Some really interesting and collectable examples up for grabs. Please check out all my other listings. This particular pen is quite a rare flat top Japanese Jumbo Eyedropper pen and dates from the 1950's. The material is a type of plastic called ebonite. It has been rumoured that they were specially made for people with arthritis but after researching them, it looks like it is misinformation Fakenews!!!
Either way it's a monster it measures 13.3mm in length, the base is 2cm dia and the flat top cap is 2.6cm dia. There's the remnants of some painted decoration. It looks like it is lacquered but i don't think it can be truly described as lacquer work and i'm pretty sure it is just painted on. The flat cap is threaded and can be unscrewed which i think controls the ink flow. The condition is pretty good. There are no major scratches and no cracks. Just wear to the painted decoration. The nib is marked OK MADE IN JAPAN and it looks a bit scratchy to write with. The pen is stamped on the base JAPAN and this is the only marking. Please study all the images carefully as they form an important part of the description.
