For sale is a brand new Montegrappa Bugatti Pur Sang Duotone Rollerball Pen in Matte Black, finished with Ruthenium trim. Ruthenium is a rare transition metal related to Platinum, and has a dark more than a shiny lustre. The pen comes in a Bugatti Presentation Box together with a colour booklet and Bugatti Blue leather pen holder. This is a limited edition pen with no more than 999 produced in this specification.

Pur-Sang is French for'thoroughbred' reflecting Ettore Bugatti's love for horses and the visual clues that found their way onto his cars, such as radiators shaped like horse shoes. In creating Bugatti Pur Sang Duotone writing instruments, Montegrappa studied the details and surfaces of the Bugatti Veyron, inside and out. The cars themselves are often supplied in two-tone schemes, reflected in the series name. Duotone pens caps and barrels join metal components with superior-quality Italian resin.

Starting on the cap and running through the complete pen, the metal surfaces are engraved with a pattern of Dynamic Quilting, recalling the upholstery within a Veyron. This is a stunning pen, weighty in the hand (on account of how much Ruthenium there is). The matte black offers something different to the normal shiny resins.
