The pen has a push mechanism that extends the ball point for writing and by pushing the top back it retracts. The pen is matte black with a gold color band around the top. The pen was given to me as a gift and it has been in its case the entire time other than being taken out to take the attached pictures. The very top of the pen is capped off with the Mont Blanc mountain top symbol.

The pen comes in the original box along with the instructions and protective case. Original box still has protective plastic shield over the clear part of the case to prevent scratching. Please look at the pictures which will give you a good indication of the size of the pen next to a ruler. The pen also has an engraved calligraphy style "ca" on it which is also shown in the pictures. Please feel free to ask any questions or request additional pictures.
