But the girth is about the same. As is typical of this material, the barrel has discolored some.

The body is still very shinny and with only light surface scratches. The imprints are a bit worn but still readable, and there is a clear personalization that reads D. The gold-filled clip has a little brassing on the top edge and the band has some light brassing here and there. The lever looks great except for just a tiny spot of brassing at its bottom end. Sheaffer's Lifetime nib is a large, thick, and firm XF (0.3mm) that is both plenty wet and plenty smooth.
